The Camo seen around the world
In the 1960s, Her Majesty's Armed Forces sought a new camouflage pattern effective in Europe's woodland terrain to counter the Soviet threat. This need led to the creation of Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM), a highly effective camouflage solution.
DPM first saw widespread use during Britain's involvement in northern Ireland in the 1970s . DPM continued to be a staple of British military uniforms through the Falklands War, the Gulf War, and beyond. The design evolved over time, leading to variations such as the woodland DPM, desert DPM, and the more modern Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP). Despite its official replacement by MTP in the 2010s, DPM remains popular among military enthusiasts, collectors, and outdoor adventurers for its historical significance and proven effectiveness.
